The 2008 Golf Outing

September 10th, 2008  is the date for this years outing and again it will be at Apple Ridge Country Club. Click on this link for directions.  The cost will be $300 per golfer which will include lunch, refreshments on the course, beer all day at the turn, first class cocktail hour open bar, sit down awards steak dinner, and desert.  Tee and green sponsorships at $250 each and refreshment station sponsorships at $400 and $800 for the open bar, each are available. Sponsors will have their company name proudly displayed on a sign.  Each year we are pleased to present each paying golfer with a quality Society of Marine Port Engineers Logo, windbreaker, valued at $50. There are golf prizes for the best teams and individual prizes for the many great golfers in our group. A set of top quality golf clubs and a golf bag is raffled off for only $5 per ticket or five for $20. The cost of this fun event is what it costs the Society to host it.  Dinner only guests are welcome at a cost of $90 each. DIRECTIONS TO APPLE RIDGE COUNTRY CLUB

FROM TAPPAN ZEE BRIDGE      Exit N.Y. Thruway at Exit 14B Airmont Road. Turn left (South), continue on Airmont Road into New Jersey until Masonicus Road traffic light (approx 4 miles from N.Y. Thruway). At traffic light (Paddington condos on right), turn left and continue for 1/2 mile. Turn right on E. Crescent Avenue. Golf Course is 1/4 mile ahead on left.

FROM SOUTH     Route 17 North. Watch for sign "Upper Saddle River/Ramsey one mile." Continue on Route 17 to Lake Street/Ramsey exit (first exit after overpass). Turn left at first traffic light (E. Crescent Avenue). Club is approximately 1/2 mile ahead on the right.

FROM NORTH    Route 17 to Ramsey/Upper Saddle River: Take second exit- (Upper Saddle River/U-turn). Go over highway and travel straight to first traffic light. Go through traffic light and club is approximately one mile ahead on right.

FROM GARDEN STATE PARKWAY    Take last exit in New Jersey (Montvale-exit 172). Go left on ramp to Grand Avenue, which becomes Lake Street, to East Crescent Avenue (4th traffic light). Make right turn at light. Club is 1/2 mile on right.

FROM ROUTE 287   Take Exit #66 (Mahwah 17 South). Proceed as above

A Brunch will be available at 11:00 a.m. in the Clubhouse

On The Course

Shotgun start Noon, Scramble-best ball format.  Refreshment stations will be on the course, with free beer on tap available at the clubhouse.

Reception

Hors d’oeuvres and cocktails will be Main Dining Room from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

Dinner, Awards and Raffle           A JACKET IS REQUIRED FOR DINNER.

Will be at 6:30 p.m. in the Clubhouse Patio and Cocktail Lounge.

The cost per golfer will be $300 for brunch, golf, open bar and dinner.  Cocktails and Dinner only will be $90.

Please make reservations early! We are sorry, due to the Club’s required guarantee, there will be no refunds made nor cancellations accepted after September 5th . Reservations are limited to 144, the Club does not allow provisions for a rain date.

All sponsors will have a sign with their company name prominently displayed and will receive “Honorary” mention at the Awards Dinner.
