In case you have not heard, my two year term as SMPE Chairman of the Board is now up and Joseph Walla has assumed the position. It is my pleasure to have worked with everyone the last two years. I’m sure you will all give the same support to the new Chairman of the Board Joseph Walla.
As I step back I’d like to highlight a few of the items your Board of Directors enacted at the first meeting Joe presided (Tuesday 04-March):
1. 2014 Charity - $20,000 authorized for charitable projects and grants this year. Now we roll up our sleeves for the real work of promoting our industry.
2. Website Remake - authorized the funding to modernize our website ( It will be a few months before this is ready to roll out but it will be worth waiting for. In the meantime the old website is kept current so please keep checking for updates.
3. SMPE on Facebook – yes we really have entered the 21st century ( Be sure to “Like” and “Share” with your friends, and post photos and discussions as you see fit. Please give a warm welcome to Joe Walla and

Thanks Again for all your help!

Sincerely, John Riddle
